Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992 by Anna Deavere Smith

The Smith College Department of Theatre presents Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992 by Anna Deavere Smith, directed by Kyle Boatwright.

Anna Deavere Smith's stunning work of documentary theatre in which she uses, verbatim, the words of people who experienced the 1992 Los Angeles riots to explore the devastating human impact of that event. A work that goes directly to the heart of the issues of race and class, Twilight offers a stark insight into the complex and pressing social, economic, and political issues that fueled the flames in the wake of the Rodney King verdict and ignited a conversation about policing and race that continues today.

Open to participants in the Smith and 5C testing programs. Masks and campus IDs required. Smith students are free by emailing boxoffice@smith.edu.
